Study Task - Working Freelance/Self Employment

This week, we learned about freelancing as an animator.

Prior to this week, we had to calculate our annual expenses, using that I will then judge how much annual income I will require if I were to be a freelancer.

My annual spending is estimated to be £12,316. If I were to freelance I would like to earn at least 50% more than what I spend as savings. Therefore working freelance ideally I would want to earn at least £18,000 annually

Using a site called 'Your Rate', I inputted my choice of annual rate, working hours per week and weeks off per year.

Annual Rate & Working Hours

My Rates

After calculating my rates, my rates would be £19 per hour or £150 per day. This would be a good start up cost as the annual income of £18,000 allowing me to cover my annual expense of £12,316. This leaves £5,684 as savings.
