Following up to Sentient Environment, we learnt about sonorous soundscapes. Sonorous Soundscapes mean the noise between things. Some examples are the 4'33 by John Cage, an orchestra performed in complete silence. This allows us to observe the ambience noise that surrounds us. Another example is Opus II, by Walther Ruttmann; whom uses mix media to visualise sound. Finally, a Seashell can help us understand the concept as you envelop your ear within the shell, you can hear 'the ocean'.
The task given was to add sound to the animation loop that we did for the Animism task. After this seminar, I learnt that adding an ambience sound to the animation will significantly enhance the believability of the environment. Therefore since I animated a lightbulb flashing in the basement, I added basement ambiences as the foundation before adding the sound effects on top.
